Resort Openings & Maiden Cruise Voyages

Following are featured upcoming resort openings and cruise ship maiden voyages.

Paradisus Playa del Carmen La Perla - opened 11/15/11. New adults-only resort is ultra luxury design with world-class facilities. Located on the beach in Playa del Carmen Mexico just steps away local attractions. This is an all-suite resort featuring swim-up, oceanview, and 1BR suites. Adult-only restaurants and some common area restaurants shared with sister La Esmeralda family resort.

Paradisus Playa del Carmen La Esmeralda - grand opening 11/30/11. Family area of the ultra luxury designed Paradisus Playa del Carmen complex which has its own set of pools and beach stretch.  This is an all-suite resort featuring swim-up, oceanview, and 1BR family suites.

Iberostar Cancun - grand opening 12/1/11. Latest upscale luxury all-inclusive resort is the only Cancun resort with a golf course on-property. 426 rooms and suites. Located directly on the beach along with 7 pools. Event space up 2,500 guests. The resort is designed for all types of travelers including families with extensive kids club programs.

Celebrity Reflection - maiden voyage 10/12/12. 5th ship of Celebrity's successful Solstice Class. This version has been refined with an additional deck, 72 additional staterooms including 34 additional Aqua Class Suites. The maiden voyage on 10/12/12 is a 9-night Western Europe cruise from Amsterdam to Barcelona. After a few Mediterranean cruises, it will be doing a transatlantic cruise on 11/18/12 from Barcelona to Miami. It will then be based in Miami through the Spring of 2013 doing a series of Eastern Caribbean cruises.

Norwegian Breakaway - maiden voyage 4/30/13. Latest mega ship from Norwegian following on the heels of its ultra successful Norwegian Epic. The Norwegian Epic is 144k tons and has a capacity of 4,000. Its maiden voyage will be a 7-night transatlantic cruise from London to NYC starting at $749 for inside cabin. It will be the largest cruise ship to enter NYC where it will then be based doing a series of roundtrip 7-night Bermuda cruises.

Royal Princess - maiden voyage May 2013. Latest large ship from Princess Cruises with capacity of 3,052. The Royal Princess maiden voyage in 2013 will mark approx 5 years since the last ship from Princess which was the Ruby Princess, a similar size ship launched back in 2008.
