If you do actually see lower prices than ours, beware that we have seen some outlets who try to gain business by offering attractive leader prices, but usually loaded with hidden costs. These hidden costs are structured in many forms that will result in most customers paying much more overall in the end. There are actually several ways these outlets take advantage of their own customers and we have seen them used in various combinations. The outlets often have highly visual appealing websites all with the motivation of giving visitors a false sense of security.
1) If during the booking process, it is not made clear that "taxes are included", buyer beware. We can not tell you how many times we hear from travelers who believed they were getting the lowest price only to be charged at the resort for additional taxes such as housekeeping fees and energy surcharges. We can assure you that by booking Superclubs through our referral links, not only are you getting the additional 5% discount, but all taxes and surcharges are included within our price - no surpise resort charges later on.
2) In exchange for savings of a few bucks upfront, the outlet will sometimes impose heavy revision fees in order to make even simple changes to the reservation. In addition, customers are often faced with unattractive cancellation terms which usually involve imposed cancellation fees from the point of the booking date. These cancellation fees are usually much heavier than the standard Superclubs fee, sometimes the entire cost of the vacation. Beware of any outlet not making clear the cancellation and revision terms during the booking process. By booking through the DML Superclubs referral links, the Superclubs website makes available Terms and Conditions that include all policies concerning revisions and cancellations. Superclubs has a simple policy of offering full refund up until 21 days before arrival. Within 21 days, there is a $500 cancellation fee which would be deducted from the refund. Of course, if you purchase the travel protection plan and have a covered reason for cancellation, the cancellation fee would be reimbursed by the insurance policy.
3) Some vacation outlets will often require full payment upfront without the option of deposit. The full payment is often compounded with heavy cancellation or revision fees from time of booking. By booking through DML, If outside of 40 days of arrival, Superclubs simply requires a deposit of $100 per person. This deposit is fully refundable for any reason. At the point of 40 days before arrival, the remaining balance is due. The full payment is fully refundable up until 21 days before arrival for any reason. Once within 21 days, customers would then be responsible for the $500 cancellation fee as descibed above.
4) Vacation outlets will sometimes offer inexpensive 'Cancel for any reason' policies, but usually often tied with one major condition - a credit for future travel to the resort as opposed to a full refund. Instead of getting a refund, a voucher is provided for future travel to the resort - usually good for only 12 months. To make matters worse, customers would still be responsible for revision charges imposed by the outlet for both the resort and air as well as any additional charges due to higher resort and/or airline costs for the new travel period (don't expect these outlets to offer a refund if the resort and/or airline costs are actually lower for the revised dates).
Most travelers don't usually anticipate trip cancellation or even revisions. But we can tell you that it happens all the time for various reasons. That is exactly what the shady outlets count on to provide larger profits for themselves overall. Even small reservation changes many months in advance of arrival such as adding a person, changing room type, and date modifications all carry heavy revision fees - fees or terms that they rarely disclose or make clear during the booking process. These outlets are not selling Superclubs directly as DML does. Instead, these outlets sell through a 3rd party who add the layer of complicated terms and conditions. By booking through DML, Superclubs does not charge revision fees outside of the cancellation fee as described above along with excellent and reliable customer service.
