Pioneers of the all-inclusive vacation concept, accommodations range from charming inns to luxurious resorts. Jamaica is the birthplace of Belafonte's calypso and Bob Marley's reggae, and home to many celebrated music festivals. Over the last 5 years, Jamaica has undergone enourmous development with hotel expansion and new resort construction. The government has supported the ongoing development with extensive infrastructure investment including modern roadway improvement and major airport expansions. Compared to years ago, traveling to Jamaica is now much more of a pleasure with modern airport facilities and an improved efficient and safe roadway transportation system.

Weather: Jamaica's average annual temperature is 80°F. The average yearly temperature range is between 78°F and 85°F. Extreme temperatures range from a low of 65°F to a high of 95°F. Official hurricane season runs from June through November, with August and September being the peak months, but direct hits are very rare in Jamaica's history.
Island Atmosphere: Laid-back and relaxed tropical experience, mountain scenery along with lush gardens in many areas. Some resorts feature American/Intl dining while others specialize in Jamaican cuisine. Depending on tourist preferences, Jamaica has a large variation of resort types and atmospheres including large all-inclusive resorts, small intimate retreats, exclusive inn's, luxury spas, couples-only getaways, family resorts, adult-only atmosphere, and simple hotels. Airport, roadways, and resort areas are safe and secure. Street vendors are respectful in general but can be overwhelming in some areas. Most resorts and hotels are secure from vendors but some are not.
Montego Bay
Montego Bay is home to Jamaica's tourist airport and ideal for those who are limited to a short stay. Hotels are located in 2 areas, the downtown "Hip Strip" area along Doctor's Cave public beach, and larger beach resorts along the private beaches of eastern Montego Bay.
